英語四六級(jí)翻譯技巧：長(zhǎng)句直譯的誤區(qū)

在較長(zhǎng)的英語句子中存在著比較復(fù)雜的關(guān)系，很難按原則順序用一句漢語表達(dá)出來，這就要根據(jù)英文句子的特點(diǎn)和內(nèi)在聯(lián)系進(jìn)行意譯，不能直譯的長(zhǎng)句主要有三種處理方法。

1、根據(jù)句子內(nèi)在的邏輯關(guān)系和漢語的表達(dá)習(xí)慣進(jìn)行翻譯。例如：

There are advantages to underground life, too, and something to be said for imaging whole cities, even mankind generally, moving downward, of having the outermost mile of the Earth's crust honeycombed with passage and strue-ture, like a gigantic ant hill.

這是一個(gè)倒裝句，表示設(shè)想條件與結(jié)果關(guān)系，按這一關(guān)系來譯比直譯好：家似的建筑物，一座座城市都遷入地下，甚至全人類都遷入地下生活，這也會(huì)給人類帶來很多好處。

The chances are that the dwellers of the new caves would see more greenery, under ecologically healthier conditions, than dwellers of surface cities do today.

這個(gè)句子并不復(fù)雜，但不好譯。這個(gè)句子有三層關(guān)系，比較、條件和結(jié)果，按這種邏輯關(guān)系翻譯就十分省事。

同今天地面城市里的居民相比，新洞穴里的居民如果在比較健康的生態(tài)環(huán)境中生活，會(huì)有更多的機(jī)會(huì)見到青枝綠葉。

2、有些長(zhǎng)句需要直譯與意譯結(jié)合，順譯與遞譯結(jié)合，需要綜合處理。

這個(gè)句子的主句部分可以意譯，從句部分可直譯。

有些科學(xué)家的觀點(diǎn)更開闊，更富有普遍性和哲理性。他們指出，有關(guān)人類戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)本能的證據(jù)尚不完全，而且容易引起誤解，事實(shí)上，人類自身具有消除戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的能力。

這個(gè)句子雖長(zhǎng)，結(jié)構(gòu)不復(fù)雜，如果進(jìn)行直譯，其譯文將十分遜色，如果進(jìn)行綜合處理，譯文將有聲有色地傳達(dá)原文的神韻。

那里的人們富于大無畏的開創(chuàng)精神，建立龐大的企業(yè)，敢冒風(fēng)險(xiǎn)，勢(shì)如破竹，一干到底，不顧及成本，因此為加利福尼亞贏得了聲譽(yù)。

3、由于有些句型不同于漢語的思維方式，常常需要進(jìn)行倒譯。

Textile finishes have in general become a "no-no" in today's market place,thanks to many reasons,says a represen tative of fiber producer.

一位纖維廠家代表說，由于許多原因，紡織物整理劑在今天的市場(chǎng)上已經(jīng)到無人的問津的地步。
